How to display a flag banner?
Setting Up Your Flag Banner
Displaying a promotional flag banner (like a feather or teardrop flag) properly ensures maximum visibility and prevents damage to the hardware.
1. Assembling the Pole
Most flag banners use a sectional pole system made of fiberglass and aluminum. Simply slide the pieces together, thickest at the bottom to thinnest at the top. The top piece is usually highly flexible.
2. Threading the Flag
Carefully slide the pole sleeve of the flag over the assembled pole. Push the pole all the way to the reinforced tip of the flag. Do not force it; the flexible pole will naturally bend to the shape of the flag.
3. Securing the Tension
At the bottom of the flag, you will find a bungee cord or tension string. Tie this securely to the hook located at the bottom of the pole. This tension is what gives the flag its shape and keeps it flat.
4. Choosing a Base
- Ground Spike: Best for grass, soil, and outdoor festivals. Drive the spike deep into the ground using a rubber mallet.
- Cross Base with Water Bag: Ideal for flat indoor surfaces or concrete sidewalks. Always use the weighted water bag outdoors to prevent it from blowing over.
- Car Tire Mount: Perfect for auto dealerships, this U-shaped base sits securely under the tire of a parked car.
Always ensure your base features a rotating spindle, allowing the flag to rotate with the wind rather than fighting it.
